Clone a site for staging
Clone a Concierge site when the business wants to test the same setup on a staging URL before using it on the live website.
Cloning saves time. It creates another real Concierge site with the approved knowledge and settings already copied over.
When to clone
- The customer wants to test Concierge on a staging or preview website.
- The live site and staging site should use the same business information.
- You do not want to repeat scanning, review, source uploads, Quick Find setup, and routing configuration from the beginning.
What copies over
- Approved Site Brain details and owner-added source information.
- Quick Find topics, widget behavior, voice settings, ticket form, and routing setup.
- Brand and launcher settings.
What starts fresh
- The website URL and install code are specific to the cloned site.
- Messages, visitor activity, install checks, custom domains, and analytics start clean.
- The staging site can later be kept, changed, or deleted like any other Concierge site.
How to test staging
- Clone the existing Concierge site.
- Set the staging website URL on the cloned site.
- Copy the cloned site's install code into the staging website.
- Open the staging site and confirm Concierge appears.
- Ask real visitor questions, test Quick Find, and send a handoff.
